Drawing Basic Space
Student Life Centre (SLC) Career Lounge, TULC.
Perspective of our basic space, Student Life Centre (SLC).
The Tasks:
Yes, this is clearly an individual assignment. However, we were advised to work in groups to ease the heavy workload as plenty of measurements were needed to be taken within the given space. Our group (the same group as in assignment 1A and 1B) was assigned to Student Life Centre (SLC) Career Lounge which is located at Taylor's University Lakeside Campus (TULC). Collaborating with the other groups which were also assigned to the same space as well, we are required to measure the given space and to produce a set of orthographic drawings individually.
Our group did the measurements of the furniture within Student Life Centre (SLC) Career Lounge.
The Requirements:

To measure the given space including all existing furniture and lightings.

To produce one floor plan, two elevations and one section orthographic drawings.

To generate the drawings in a scale of 1:25.

To have proper labeling, line weight, annotations, dimensions and correct symbols.​

To use architectural handwriting for lettering.​

To compose all drawings in an A3 booklet with a proper front and back cover. The booklet must also be ring/spring binding.

Reflection:
As a conclusion, this assignment serves as an introductory exercise for me to know how drawing conventions and calculation are used in the field. In my perspective, I think that the most difficult part in this assignment was the measuring part as our dimensions always contradicted with the other groups'. Besides, I experienced a hard time throughout the assignment as I am kind of a perfectionist. Therefore, I took a plenty of time to make sure all the drawings are drawn accurately. I have learnt that I need to use the correct drawing tools in order to make things go on smoothly and I wish to improvise this in the future.
